Oman Air Bridge Course Commences at Ayla Aviation Academy |
|
|
Oman Air Bridge course commenced their training at Ayla on April 27, 2008. The 13 week bridge course covers ATPL theory, as well as introduction to Multi Crew Cooperation (MCC).

The 19 cadets are all licensed CPL/IR pilots who will be joining Oman Air as First Officers upon graduating and completing their type ratings.

Ayla welcomes course Delta |
|
|
Course Delta commenced their flight training at Ayla on January 27, 2008. The class includes 22 cadets with diverse backgrounds, some having lived in Canada, France and the United Arab Emirates. 3 out of the 22 students join Ayla with a background in aviation having previous flying hours, and 4 having previous cabin crew experience, 3 in Gulf Air and 1 in Emirates Airlines.

Course Delta is off to a good start in their Ground School training, they have also won the Ayla Basketball tournament during their first week in Aqaba.

Ayla Aviation Academy is in the process of transforming into a Carbon Neutral training organisation.
The effort to take responsibility over Carbon emissions aims to raise awareness and understanding of our staff and students about the importance of protecting the environment we live in.

Ayla is proud to announce that our fleet is Carbon Neutral Plane certified in 2008, by its compensation of 100% of Carbon Dioxide released in 2007.

Ayla Provides Language Training Courses to its Staff |

Ayla has launched a new language training program with Berlitz Language Center. Berlitz was founded in 1878 and has over 500 language centers worldwide. Berlitz Jordan initially offers training courses in different languages including: English, Arabic, French, Russian, Greek, German, Japanese and others. Ayla is proud to offer its staff the option to strengthen their

conversational and professional English or learn conversational Arabic. These language skills will assist foreign staff to better interact with the local culture and local staff to strengthen their communication skills in English, the international language of business.

Ayla Aviation Academy, in cooperation with sister company Atlantic Flight Training, has announced its intent to launch an MPL (Multi-Crew Pilot License) program in Jordan during 2008.
“We see MPL as an up-to-date training program designed to give pilots the essential core and basic skills found in existing programs, but with added emphasis and training on advanced instrument aircraft and simulators, as well as Multi-Crew Cooperation”, said Matthew Margesson, COO.
“Evolving in the direction of MPL is the logical step for us. We have gained the trust of customers such as Royal Jordanian and Gulf Air, and we would like to continue to work with airlines, some of which are currently looking at MPL as an upgrade to their current training.

Ayla Aviation Academy is located at King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba, Jordan. The facilities include comprehensively equipped training centers located in purpose- built ground and flight facilities. Utilizing state-of-the-art aircraft, simulators and training techniques, under the supervision of our highly qualified Professional Team of Ground and Flight Instructors, Ayla prepares trainee Pilots to the new set of skills and standards required by the Airline Industry.
Ayla Aviation’s fleet includes the EFIS equipped Diamond DA40 and DA42, as well as the ALSIM AL200-42 simulator, which will be used for core and basic training.
Intermediate training will utilize a FSTD Level III simulator, which is currently under review. Advanced training to license and type rating issue will be completed with a partner company located in the region. The program will comply with the ICAO Annex1/PANS-TRG licensing requirements, published by ICAO in November 2006, as well as local regulations. |

Class Charlie II Commences at Ayla Aviation Academy |
|
Ayla's fifth course, class Charlie II, commenced on the 18th of November, 2007. The class consists of ten students, two females and eight males, all from Bahrain. Class Charlie II's students aspire to work for airlines such as Gulf Air and Bahrain Air upon receiving their licenses. Two of the ten students, Yacoub Yacoobi and Mohammad Humood, were particularly influenced by their brothers. Yacoub's brother, Captain Suliman Yacoobi, is a Chief Pilot with Itihad Airways and has

more than twenty years of aviation experience. Yacoub's other brother, Captain Ahmad Yacoobi, has more than 24 years of aviation experience and is currently Chief Operating Officer for Bahrain Air. Mohammad Humood's brother, Captain Fawaz Humood, is currently a pilot for Gulf Air. Ayla wishes class Charlie II great success in their training with the Academy and in their careers afterwards.

Gulf Air Bridge Course Concludes |
|
Gulf Air pilots conclude a four month Bridge course that began in early August, 2007. The 20 week intensive program provided Gulf Air’s pilots with theoretical knowledge and exposure to the glass cockpit, twin engine aircraft experience. Mohamad Salman, Gulf Air’s group leader at Ayla stated that they all felt at home at Ayla and that everyone was very helpful and had an open door policy. “We were

all extremely impressed by the high standards we found in an aviation academy in this region. We greatly enjoyed Aqaba, the weather is perfect for flying and the aircraft are state of the art,” stated Salman. Class Charlie commenced on the 21st of October, 2007. The course began with seven students joining Ayla from Bahrain, Lebanon and Jordan. Class Charlie will always be known as the first co-educational class of Ayla, as it holds the first female

Bridge Course Training for Gulf Air |

Ayla Aviation Academy has been awarded “Approved Training Centre” status for Middle East Mainline Carrier Gulf Air.
A group of International Commercial and Instrument Rated Pilots from Gulf Air commenced, on the 1st August 2007, a 20 week Bridge Training Program using a comprehensive syllabus, in order to provide each Pilot with ATPL theoretical knowledge and glass cockpit twin engine aircraft experience for their future ATPL Licence upgrade.
The students will have the opportunity to train using Ayla’s ATPL theoretical knowledge training manuals (developed in conjunction with Ayla’s Sister School Atlantic Flight Training in the UK and Jeppesen Boeing) and state-of-the-art aircraft, simulators and training techniques, under the supervision of highly qualified Professional Team of Ground and Flight Instructors, with teaching experience in the Middle East, Europe and the United States.

“We want to provide one of the best Bridge Training Programs in the area, to prepare these Pilots to the new set of skills and standards required by the Airline Industry," said Matthew Margesson, Chief Operating Officer of Ayla Aviation Academy.

A further group (Course Bravo) of aspiring ab initio pilots have commenced, on the 29th July 2007, a 16 months program using a comprehensive syllabus, in order to qualify as Professional Commercial Pilots.
The students will have the opportunity to train using Ayla’s ATPL theoretical knowledge training manuals (developed in conjunction with Ayla’s Sister School Atlantic Flight Training in the UK and Jeppesen Boeing) and state-of-the-art aircraft, simulators and training techniques, under the supervision of highly qualified Professional Team of Ground and Flight Instructors, with teaching experience in the Middle East, Europe and the United States. |

A group of aspiring pilots, including cadets sponsored by Royal Jordanian, a member of the Oneworld Alliance, commenced on the 29th April 2007 a 16 months program using a comprehensive syllabus, in order to qualify as Professional Commercial Pilots.
The students will have the opportunity to train using state-of-the-art aircraft, simulators and training techniques, under the supervision of highly qualified Professional Team of Ground and Flight Instructors, with teaching experience in the Middle East, Europe and the United States.
